Prince's Trust Berrymans Lace Mawer LLP (BLM) is patron of The Prince's Trust Insurance Leadership Group (ILG), a unique network for leaders of insurance companies, brokers and underwriters in the UK, committed to making a difference.
BLM has been a proud patron of the Trust for over three years and in that time we have raised in excess of £150,000 for the youth charity. The money raised helps disadvantaged young people in the UK to change their lives through employment, education and training.
A huge part of our commitment involves taking part in The Prince's Trust challenge events. In 2008 we took part in our first Prince's Trust challenge in Namibia and raised almost £30,000, which we went on to beat the following year in the Costa Rica Coast to Coast Challenge in April 2009.
Following on from this success and continuing our support for The Prince's Trust, we will be sending a team of six, also known as the 'Borneo Wildcats', to take part in the Trust's Summit to Sea Challenge in Borneo in May this year; cycling, trekking, white water rafting from mountain to beach, rainforest to raging rivers, raising money to change the lives of many young people in the UK.
Our intrepid adventurers are Joanna Evans (BLM Cardiff), Phillip Gibbons (BLM Southampton), Joanne Howard (BLM London), Michelle Mallott (BLM Leeds), Laura Pearce (BLM London) and Karl Willington (BLM Manchester).
The team reserves are Chris Dexter (BLM Manchester) and Kate Hagan (BLM Liverpool).
The Wildcats are already hard at work training and raising money; will they be able to beat the considerable total set by the previous two teams?

'The Prince’s Trust is proud to be supported by Berrymans Lace Mawer. We continue to be impressed with the enthusiasm BLM employees demonstrate for our work right across the organisation – whether they are taking part in a tough international challenge, organising the national quiz or training for our young people. Now, more than ever, BLM’s ongoing commitment means we can get many more people on the path to success.'
