Experience: Has extensive experience of managing a portfolio of work from composite insurers and supervising dedicated client teams. Specialises in defending claims from ambulance crews alleging failure to screen or offer counselling for the cumulative effects of attending accident scenes. Has developed a speciality in handling claims from local authorities. Successfully defended an employers’ liability claim in the Court of Appeal (Alderson v Piggott & Whitfield Ltd) relating to death of an employee through alleged negligence and a breach of duty of care by an electrical contractor. Trained with A W Mawer, qualified in 1984 and became a partner in 1988.
