- Employed barrister (with full rights of audience) providing advice (and, if appropriate, advocacy services) in common law generally.
- Numerous major reported cases ranging from Anns v Merton LB [1978] (tort) to Home Office v Harman [1983] (administrative law) and Cambridge Water Co v E Counties Leather [1996].
- Has appeared in numerous environmental liability cases including Middleton v Wiggin (1996 – ambit of pollution exclusion clause following Loscoe explosion) and English Partnerships v MM (1998 – clean up of Chatham dockyard).
- Has appeared in courts at all levels from Tottenham Magistrates (the toughest of the lot!) to the House of Lords (eight times) and the European Court of Justice (twice).
- Called 1968 Inner Temple; independent practice as a barrister 1 Crown Office Row 1968-2000; 4-5 Gray’s Inn Square 2000-02. Joined BLM In 2002.
