Experience |
- Aidan specialises in advising and representing clients involved in a wide range of investigations conducted by regulatory bodies such as the General Dental Council, General Medical Council, the Environment Agency, the Health & Safety Executive and the police.
- He has substantial experience in advising both private individuals and companies at the outset of investigations, commencing with PACE interviews, providing subsequent representation before the criminal courts and before relevant disciplinary bodies.
- Notable work includes:
- Providing advice and representation in The Shipman Inquiry.
- Co-ordinating the successful defence of international advertisers in regulatory prosecutions brought by Manchester City Council.
- Successfully defending the first manslaughter prosecution in the UK relating to fairground ride inspections.
- Staying a prosecution brought by the Environment Agency against a company director alleging breach of a Waste Management Licence.
- Representing private clients including premiership rugby players and footballers in proceedings before the criminal courts.
- Advising and representing police officers who are subject to investigation by Internal Affairs.
