- David qualified in 2001, having been a trainee with BLM. He has been a partner in our Manchester office since 2006.
- David's practice is split between large loss EL/PL casualty claims, and occupational disease claims.
- Part of David's casualty work involves the construction sector. He acted on behalf of the successful defendant in the Court of Appeal in Macsalvors v Brush Transformers [2009], a decision on the scope of the Construction Plant Association (CPA) conditions of hire. In 2010, David acted on behalf of the successful defendant in a further decision on the scope of the CPA conditions which was due to be heard in the Court of Appeal in November 2010, but was withdrawn by the claimant a week before the hearing.
- In terms of occupational disease, David regularly handles claims involving HAVS, NIHL, cancers and unusual novel types of disease.
- David regularly presents and prepares articles/client training on a wide variety of topics within the EL/PL/occupational disease field.
