Experience |
Specialist in resolving professional negligence claims against solicitors and other professionals, especially financial services intermediaries. Also has leading reputation as a mediator of insurance and commercial disputes.
- Has dealt with and disposed of over 150 claims against solicitors over the past 15 years.
- Very familiar with mis-selling in the retail financial services sector. Detailed understanding of investment products including PPI, PFW, personal pensions (SIPP/SSAS/EPP), SCARPs and Split Capital Investment Trusts.
- Extensive experience of the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) and its predecessor, the PIA OB. Also the Pension Ombudsman – acted for the successful party in Kemp v Sims (2008), one of the very few reported cases on occupational pension trustee maladministration in recent years.
- Project managed PI insurers’ disposal of a £42m pension review exposure (2000-2005).
- Chris is also ranked as one of the Top 50 commercial mediators in the UK, having now mediated over 130 substantial cases since his accreditation in 1999.
