- Joe works at both the Bristol and Southampton offices.
- Obstetric claims, brain injury, neurology, endocrinology claims as well as infection, orthopaedics and ambulance service related claims.
- Health advice on capacity and consent, emergency applications, support through catastrophic events such as legionella outbreaks and death in custody, media control, inquests and governance particularly to feed back the lessons for the reduction of risk.
- Trial success includes Court of Appeal Cases: Came v Exeter Health Authority on striking out for no cause of action, Huggins v Avon Health Authority testing Bolam and Bolitho on duty of care, Leeson v Marsden and United Bristol Healthcare Trust on defective service of proceedings.
- Inquests involving mental health patients, infections, medical accidents, misdiagnosis, incorrect use of equipment.
- Catastrophic motor claims included the M5 Swindon pile up involving over 100 serious injuries and the Keynsham rugby club multiple injury to pedestrians.
- Defamation including prevention of expose documentaries, review of inquiry reports, defending libel action involving reputation of non executive directors of Health Trust.
- EL/PL claims covering industrial disease, manual handling, slipping and tripping.
