BLM has a specialist Housing unit, supplemented by experience from the Police and Emergency services team that deal with Anti-Social Behaviour from a Housing management and stand alone point of view. The work includes advice on partnership issues with the police and other stakeholders and input into practical solutions, including ABC contracts and other low level litigation alternative measures.

Where necessary and proportionate litigation is initiated in the County Court or Magistrates Court to obtain orders/injunctions and where appropriate possession or demotion proceedings are taken. The team have obtained numerous without notice orders with powers of arrest and have a 100% record in disputed matters. If litigation is not the answer the team encourage clients to utilise lower level powers and help in problem solving to achieve the best possible outcome. Human Rights Act issues are central to the manner in which cases are conducted.
