Berrymans Lace Mawer LLP (BLM) has expanded its national healthcare unit with the appointment of new partner, Jane Lang, to its Cardiff office.
Jane joins the firm from RadcliffesLeBrasseur where she was also a partner in the healthcare team and head of the Cardiff office. Jane will launch the healthcare unit in BLM Cardiff, supported by the wider healthcare team operating from BLM London and BLM Manchester.
Jane has over 20 years of experience in advising clients in the healthcare sector, during which time she has established a reputation specialising in regulatory and disciplinary fields, clinical negligence, mental health, crime and child protection.
Commenting on her appointment, head of BLM Cardiff Matthew Harrington, said: “Expanding into healthcare is an exciting venture for the Cardiff office and we are confident in Jane’s ability to raise the office’s profile in this area. BLM has a strong national healthcare team with a wealth of clients and I am in no doubt that our lawyers in this area will offer Jane the right support and assistance to develop our national presence.”
BLM’s healthcare team advises a diverse range of clients across all practice areas, including clinical negligence indemnifiers, royal colleges, complementary medicine practitioners, private hospitals and their insurers.
The team also represents healthcare professionals before Primary Care Trusts and Local Health Boards, the HESC Chamber of the First-Tier Tribunal, General Medical Council, General Dental Council, Health Professions Council, General Optical Council, psychotherapy and counselling regulators.
Jane Lang commented: “BLM’s healthcare division has built a reputation in the market as a leading provider, and joining its national team is an exciting challenge. I am looking forward to launching healthcare as a practice area in the Cardiff office whilst being part of the firm’s wider offering.”
