Environmental seminars 2012

Event Photo

Environmental issues and concerns remain at the top of national and international agendas. Whether the concerns relate to residual problems or ‘horizon gazing’, environmental issues are becoming an increased cost to business. A knowledge of environmental legislation, case law and development can assist in minimising or decreasing environmental spend and this session will assist by providing an overview of some of the most pressing matters for our clients.

The seminar will commence with a review on environmental case law followed by a look at the changing attitude surrounding environmental risk and the law in practice. We will also discuss the benefits and challenges of renewable energy. Recent media interest has brought new focus to fracking and we will provide you with an update on the impact of fracking and some thoughts on future developments.

Finally we will conclude with a talk on investigating environmental crime. Our session will cover the regulators' powers to investigate any form of criminal breaches, how this evidence can be used in criminal trials and managing the risks for both companies and individuals.

If you are an environmental professional, or you have responsibility for environmental issues, then this seminar is for you. Whether you work in industry, local authority, construction or insurance, attendance at this seminar will provide you with a broad overview of various aspects of the current law and legislation regarding environmental matters.
